EBook Description: This is a novelization of the play incorporating Shakespeares dialogue no footnotes! At the end of a violent Scottish insurrection, three mischievous agents of Fate tempt a valiant warrior who in times of peace has been an unprincipled thane, a nobleman eager to rise, but reluctant to create political opportunity by criminal means. His ambitious wife is not so hesitant she demands that he act, and the pairs conniving soon bears its fruits and consequences. Living in luxury, the deadly couple are haunted: she, tormented by nightmarish guilt, he, sleepless, and driven to violent action in hopes of altering the dismal destiny prophesied for him. Macbeths extravagance and increasingly malevolent actions arouse fear, then stir resistance, bringing Scotlands nobility to the verge of civil war. Always bold, he is fearless after again listening to the witches. As have many others, after seizing power and exerting it ruthlessly, he comes to believe hes invincible. Only the impossible, it seems, could defeat Macbeth but his patriotic opponents must try.

One of the major problems in my life is an irresistible impulse to fall head-over-heels in love with complete strangers. This may not seem much of a problem, but when you combine it with a deep seated insecurity that makes me sure that theyll never be interested in loving me back, it produces quite a few problems. The first is an unwillingness, or rather an inability, to express my feelings. The first time I fell in love was when I was fourteen. It was with a girl who used to go to the school across the road from mine. But I couldnt even bring myself to talk to her let alone ask her out. We used to get the same bus home from school and Id stand there at the bus stop trying not to stare at her. For a whole school year we stood there, not talking to each other. And to this day I have absolutely no idea if she had any similar feelings for me, or if she even noticed me. The second problem is

n a slightly alternate world the minds of teen offenders are uploaded into computers for rehabilitation a form of virtual wilderness therapy. Zach is a homo cognoscens, one of the new humans with startling but as yet poorly understood cognitive abilities who can enter the virtual Fulgrid. Though still a high school student, he is indentured to the Fulgur Corporation as a counsellor. Laura is a homo sapiens. They meet and fall in love across barriers of fear and hatred, exacerbated by Zachs growing involvement with an underground political movement. There is some mystery as to the fate of his parents, while Lauras dad is a prominent neuroscientist with the Fulgur Corporation. Lines of loyalty are difficult to untangle, particularly because both have suffered a certain measure of emotional trauma in their early lives. From the very first chapters there is a sense of impending tragedy.
