HANDBOOK OF OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIER APPLICATIONS
While in the process of reviewing Texas Instruments applications notes, including those from Burr-Brown I uncovered a couple of treasures, this handbook on op amp applications and one on active RC networks. These old publications, from 1963 and 1966, respectively, are some of the finest works on op amp theory that I have ever seen.
An Applications Guide for Op Amps (PDF 15p)
The general utility of the operational amplifier is derived from the fact that it is intended for use in a feedback loop whose feedback properties determine the feed-forward characteristics of the amplifier and loop combination.
Op Amp Circuit Collection (PDF 24p)
Collection of Op Amp Circuit.
Op Amp Applications Handbook
Op Amp Applications Handbook, edited by Walt Jung (Newnes, 2006), comprises Op Amp Basics, Specialty Amplifiers, Using Op Amps with Data Converters, Sensor Signal Conditioning, Analog Filters, Signal Amplifiers, Hardware and Housekeeping Techniques, and Op Amp History. As the name implies, it covers the application of op amps, but does so on a broader scope. It also covers a host of closely related design topics, making it a formidable toolkit for the analog designer.
MODELING AN OP AMP AMPLIFIER (PDF)
A feedback model for an op-amp amplifier to determine its input and output topologies, the asymptotic gain, and the loop gain.
Notes on Operational Amplifiers (Op Amps)
The upper input is usually the inverting input. Occasionally it is drawn with the non-inverting input on top when it makes the schematic easier to read. The position of the inputs may vary within the same schematic, so always look closely at the schematic..
Op Amp History (PDF 74p)
A development background of the op amp begins early in the 20th century, starting with certain fundamental beginnings.Of these, there were two key inventions very esrly in the century.
The Monolithic Operational Amplifier A Tutorial Study (PDF 22p)
The integrated circuit operational amplifier (IC op amp) is
the most widely used of all linear circuits in production to-
day. Over one hundred million of the devices will be sold in
1974 alone, and production costs are falling low enough so
that op amps find applications in virtually every analog area.
Operational Amplifiers (PDF 33p)
The theory of electrical signal processing requires amplifiers to perform, with electrical signals, mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, differentiation, integration, etc.
Using Single Supply Operational Amplifiers in Embedded Systems (PDF)
Beyond the primitive transistor, the operational amplifier is the most basic building block for analog applications. Fundamental functions such as gain, load isolation, signal inversion, level shifting, adding and/or subtracting signals are easily implemented with this building block.
