The Physics of Organic Superconductors and Conductors: This book contains general (tutorial) and topical reviews, written by leading researchers in the area of organic superconductors and conductors from USA, Japan, France, Germany, Russia, United Kingdom, Korea, and Australia. It covers contemporary topics such as unconventional superconductivity, non-Fermi-liquid properties, the quantum Hall effect, strongly correlated electrons, novel types of quantum macroscopic phenomena in a magnetic field, magnetic field induced spin(charge)-density waves, and magnetic field induced exotic superconducting phases are described both from theoretical and experimental points of views. Two types of review are included: general (tutorial) reviews, containing both educational information and state of art information about recent experimental discoveries and theoretical predictions are intended for general readers, researchers and graduate students, specialized in any area of condensed matter physics; and topical reviews, emphasizing very recent developments, will be useful for researches and graduate students currently active in the physics of organic conductors and superconductors. The book provides both an introduction and a review of the current status of the field.

"Integral Foam Molding of Light Metals: Technology, Foam Physics and Foam Simulation": The development of cost-effective techniques to produce metal parts with integrated cellular structure is the newly developed process of integral foam molding.
This book shows in three parts the technology, the fundamentals and the simulation models for the Integral Foam Molding of Light Metals. Part I: “Technology” shows for the first time that foaming of metals is possible by applying molding techniques very similar to polymer integral foam molding. It introduces and discusses in detail a low pressure and a high pressure process of foam molding. Part II: “Physics” is devoted to the physics of foaming with special emphasis on the very short time scale which is characteristic for integral foam molding. Although very complex in detail, foam formation is shown to underlie simple evolution laws determined by the way how foam stabilization is realized.

"Physics of the Solar Corona: An Introduction with Problems and Solutions": Solar science has evolved rapidly over the past ten years as the results of a new generation of solar space missions have become available. This book provides a thorough introduction to the subject of solar physics, based on those spacecraft observations. The author introduces the solar corona, which has a temperature of several million degrees, and sets it in the context of basic plasma physics before moving on to discuss plasma instabilities and plasma heating processes. The latest results on coronal heating and radiation, which are fundamental processes in all stars, are presented. Spectacular phenomena such as solar flares and coronal mass ejections are described in detail, together with their potential effects on the Earth. The author draws together observations made at many wavelengths from hard X-rays, soft X-rays, extreme UV and radio wavelengths.

Space and Time in Contemporary Physics: An authoritative early exposition of relativity theory, this reader-friendly book describes the physical doctrines of the special and general theories of relativity in terms of their philosophic significance. A clear, nonmathematical introduction to a complex subject, this book offers readers of all backgrounds a coherent and informative overview.

"Surface Alloys and Alloy Surfaces (The Chemical Physics of Solid Surfaces)": Surface Alloys and Alloy Surfaces is concerned with the structural, compositional, electronic and chemical properties of the surfaces of solids in which the surface layers, at least are alloyed. Two different categories of system are covered - the surfaces of bulk alloys (alloy surfaces) and surface phases in which one or more outermost atomic layers are alloyed, while the underlying bulk involves no such intermixing (surface alloys)

From Physics to Control Through an Emergent View: The book is a compilation of selected papers from the conference on Physics and Control 2009, presenting a unified perspective underlying the thematics and strategies related to the control of physical systems with emerging applications in physics, engineering, chemistry, biology and other natural sciences. The selected papers reflect the state-of-the-art of the more advanced theoretical and practical studies in the field of control of complex systems. The contributions provide a comprehensive view on some selected topics of particular importance at the disciplinary borderline between Physics and Control.

Physics and Mathematics of Forward and Inverse Problems: Computer-assisted imaging with radiation (x- and gamma rays) is an integral part of modern medical-diagnostic practice. This imaging technology is also slowly finding its way into industrial applications. Although the technology is well developed, there is a need for further improvement to enhance image quality, reduce artifacts, minimize patient radiation exposure, compete with and complement other imaging methods (such as magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonics), and accommodate dense and large objects encountered in industrial applications.

Physics of Space Plasmas: An Introduction: In its inaugural edition, Physics of Space Plasmas was the most widely used textbook for courses in space plasma physics, and included up-to-date observations from space available at the time. Throughout universities in the United States and abroad-it has proven itself indispensable. In the more than ten years since, an amazing number of new space plasma observations have been made. These more recent observations have revealed new and exciting information about space plasma. Now, incorporating new information from several NASA and ESA space missions, the completely revised second edition is expanded to include kinetic physics so that kinetic features in the plasma data can be explained more clearly. In addition, Parks now includes a clear and simple discussion of how electromagnetic fields behave in rotating frames.
